How do I guarantee profit? I don’t know how to count cards in blackjack but I have the basic strategy chart memorized. Can I make money by keeping a running count in my head and playing the basic strategy and betting big when there’s a plus count or do I have to memorize other charts depending on the count?
Put it all on red. If you win, leave immediately and never go back.
Oliver Hall
You would be wasting your money. Not only does the house have a probability edge, you'd get thrown out if you made any meaningful profit. If you want to be a degenerate gambler just trade futures or options.
Robert Foster
Why memorise this? Casinos will let you take your cope card with you to the table.
John Martinez
Just bet on sports like a real man.
Luis Miller
You only need to memories basic strategy chart. Card counting only works if you do it perfectly and if you know how to alter your bets based on count. Otherwise it's a waste of time and won't help you at all.
Anthony Roberts
If you do card counting you have the edge over the house, but if they find out you'll get kicked out.
Jason Nelson
Dude, blackjack card counting days are over in vegas. You won't be able to outcount a 8 shoe deck that's always on shuffle. Best bet would be to go to smaller casinos and try your luck there. What I would suggest is get a friend and practice counting cards with him before going to Vegas >the house always wins
Michael King
Don't do it. Card counting is a solved problem for casinos. Although you may get a theoretical edge against casinos, in practice it doesn't exist because casinos cheat. There is no recent case of a card counter making serious money. Think about why this is. If you had a 2% edge against casinos, and it worked, you should be a billionaire in six months.
But where are these blackjack billionare's? They don't exist because casinos cheat.
Parker Brooks
how do they cheat though? like in what way? I don't see how you can cheat on something like blackjack
Michael Lewis
They can cheat by shuffling a hot shoe at any time, using waiters to distract you, speed dealing, only dealing part of the deck leaving you with low penetration (ie half a deck), not shuffling properly, using preset shuffles, and that's just for starters.
Angel Nelson
>using preset shuffles I would imagine this is very common. If a casino didn’t know what their own cards are going to be it’s probably not worth shit
Liam Hughes
Even shuffling poorly is enough to destroy card counters. Card counting requires a specific type of distribution that is negated by a poor shuffle.
Tyler Lee
so the dealers have to be highly trained, incredibly talented.
also can't one of them expose this? open the casinos up for lawsuits? or is noone ballsy enough to sue a casino?
James Young
Yeah. It's almost like it's in their interest to have well trained staff...
Caleb Butler
yea I just didn't think they were all that skilled. they usually look like normal wagie NPCs
Xavier Morales
It's like saying that the soldiers who took out Osama Bin Laden looked like wagie government workers. Perhaps they were, but they were supported by the full might of the pentagon and the office of the POTUS.
In the same way, wagie blackjack dealers are supported by the security of the house.
