Rare Candy

Who makes and WHY are they rare?

they're naturally forming crystals of energy
the thin wrapper of often damaged and the energy leaks out so that's why they're rare

Bro it's literally a Viagra joke...
1) its blue
2) its pill shaped (original design was a blue ball)
3) kids come up with random names for shit all the time (aka they don't know wtf it actually is)
4) Nobody sells it to you, meaning you can't acquire it normally at that age & gotta actively stumble upon it / search it out.
5) it grants "Pokémon" experience/awakens their dormant power... (causes "Pokémon" to "grow" by 1 lvl)

just like HP-up, PP-up, Atk-up, & Def-up drugs are reference to steroids or medical stimulants & herbs/powders are dietary supplements or various illicit drugs.
Pokémon was originally a dark universe of monster dog fighting & where harm & fucked up shit 10yr old shouldn't be messing with was just around the corner. why wouldn't they reference drugs? they had crime, yakuza teir gangs, monsters, animal fights, horror, etc.

its not very far fetched to think the creators threw it in as an inside joke

Because they're highly controlled drugs of dubious legality.

I kinda think of them as truffles. Can't really farm them but are highly sought after.

because they're made from grinded up pokemon, they were banned from creation after pokemon go so they became ultra rare

i like to believe they are lemon flavor

Masuda confirmed they're basically dog food

Candy

>Atk-up, & Def-up drugs are reference to steroids
>Proteins and Iron are steriods
The absolute state of non-natties

>MASUDA SAID-
Masuda is the director, not a writer. His opinions on the lore don’t matter.

Cope. He has had more influence on the franchise than you'll ever have on your life.

Viagra isn't that old

A regular candy meant for humans that was recalled when it was found to have unintended effects on Pokemon

The writers decide the lore, any other claim is cope. Nobody else’s opinions matter.

Director decides what's being written in the games.

Obviously not, otherwise he wouldn’t have said things which contradict the game’s lore.

Nice headcanon, but the reality is different. Director decides on everything that goes into the games, including lore.

What if a human ate the Rare Candy?

He might have the ability to do that, but I’m saying he probably doesn’t exercise that. This is likely what happens:
>Game journalist 1: “We will now interview someone about Pokemon lore! Who will we interview?”
>Game journalist 2: “Masuda! Because he’s the director, the big man in charge!”
Then Masuda shows up to the interview and states what he thinks he recalls of the lore established by the writers working under him.

its just candy
