What's the best Gen 1 Pokemon and why is it Starmie?
Charles Parker
Jeremiah Foster
finally a good thread
Gabriel Jenkins
I hate how 3d ruined him ):
Joseph Hill
Best thread
Dominic Ramirez
Best in terms of what? Mewtwo does everything Starmie does but better.
Ethan Murphy
Best in personal comfort for nostalgia.
Colton Russell
it's tauros but starmie is cooler and far more based
mewtwo isn't included because he's essentially a cheatcode
Parker Wright
It doesn't even have a face, how can you tell?
Mason Allen
Christopher Howard
The most perfectly designed pokemon and with a kino backstory to boot
Michael Adams
It's so random that Starmie is just randomly a murderer in Gen I
>gets ludicrous coverage with Thunderbolt and Ice Beam, on top of Surf and Psychic
>great Special stat to go with this
>great speed stat
>therefore higher rate of criticals
>low HP, but it gets Recover to make up for this
Every time I play Stadium and I see the trainers with a Starmie, I always go "oh no, he has a Starmie". There's only a few others that get that honour in Gen I:
>Tauros
>Lapras
>Snorlax
>Zapdos
>Gengar
>Alakazam
>Jynx
>Electrode (maybe)
Gavin Rivera
For the most part during early Nintendo cup tournament days in 99ish-2000 most teams were comprised of those mons, and actually most of the opponent's in round 2 stadium use teams based off the irl competitors
Tyler Baker
When are they going to introduce Starus already?
Alexander Cox
Yeah but Slowbro became better than him after the Physical-Special split
Nicholas Morales
Knowing how woke-tier gf staff are, they would probably name it Startheythem
Gabriel Nelson
Close, but not quite.
Luke Cox
>Bl*sturd
Angel Nguyen
So the Orre thread got me playing Battle Revolution again with my faux G1 OU team, so of course I go to the Magma Colosseum because I like its gimmick and... oh dear this place is even more fire-and-dragon-centric than I remember. When 4 attacks Starmie isn't winning the battle itself Gengar and Tauros clean up whatever is left and overwhelm any would-be Starmie checks. Water/Ice/Electric (and Psychic in my case) just too good.
Also one of the more interesting cases of balancing a Pokemon in a single player context. Its stats are good but its level up moves are almost all support, making it a pain to work with earlier on and needing a lot of TM investment to get the most out of it.
John Reed
close, but that's not poliwhirl.

based poli fan
Joseph Cox
where are my regional starmie, GF?
