Combo of COVID and low audiences

They got really bad, with the Gen 6 movies being the lowest performing movies of all. Then they tried AU movies for Gen 7 and 8.

Covid

Power of us kino movie

It is pretty based for Pokemon Movie standards

Cut your dirty ass nails

where is this from?

>English version of the film
Yeah I'd skip it too.

Curious, what's you guys thoughts on Detective Pikachu? I liked it when I first watched it, but everytime I would try to rewatch it, I would get bored and stop watching halfway through.

I can't believe they were still profitable after 4eva.

Well it helps that they released like the four best ones after it.

never watched because it looks like the cringiest shit imaginable plus ugly models.
also detective pikachu the game was a weird idea, but its a huge waste to use that of all things on the huge live action film.

Post your top three. For me, it's
>Rise of Darkrai
>Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
>Spell of the Unknown

It was an okay watch with your mom, but I don't think I missed anything by not watching it in theatres.

For me? It's Victini and Reshiram.

Movie 2 and 3 are shit.
Top 5 in any order with Darkrai at the top:
Rise of Darkrai
Heroes: Latias and Latios
Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
Destiny Deoxys

Out of the older ones, Movie 2, 3 and 6 were dogshit. Rest were all enjoyable with Celebi 4ever being the weakest. And out of nu-movies (post Darkrai), Kyurem was decent and Diancie and Giratina were okay. Rest sucked.

Terrible film.

Declining box office sales were leaving TPC and OLM anxious about keeping up the trend, and COVID finally gave them an excuse to pull out entirely.
They're probably waiting until they move onto the next phase of the anime before they consider reinventing their approach to Pokemon movies to figure out what would work for bringing back audience appeal and raking in box office numbers more in line with the classics.

>No Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Ultra Beast movies
>Instead get some of the most underwhelming episode of of the anime
>Meanwhile literal who cat and ghost kid get roles in the rebootverse, despite not even fitting with their plots
>Meanwhile the third movie is "member the first movie? Member Mewtwo?" all while done with ugly CGI

>Same fucking issue with Galar as Alola but somehow worse
>Monkee movie is just a reash of three different Pokemon movies

I will never not be mad about any of this.

I will never not be mad about this

>gen 8 has only had 1 mythical and thus only 1 tie-in movie

I wonder if this is gonna be a trend of fewer mythicals/movies

Amazing out the 4 they did, only one was ever good, and it still flopped.

They could've given Calyrex its own movie, not that anyone gives a fuck about Calyrex

>release 2 (two) movies
>exactly the same except for a few palette swaps
That was such a weird gimmick, I wonder who approved
