Information on pokemon Scarlet and Violet

-The region is called Auris.

-In the region there are two schools: the Scarlet and Violet academies. The scarlet academy believes that the power that generates the generational gimmick comes from a legendary pokemon that controls infrared light, while the violet academy thinks that the power originated from a legendary pokemon that emits ultraviolet light. In the past the two schools were in armony, but at one point they fought each other and one prevailed, relegating the other to a role of minority (which one prevails depends on the game version). The protagonist is a student in the school that prevailed.

-There will be two main quests: one will be your graduation from the school you are enrolled in, while the other will be connected to the story of the region and the legendary pokemon. You can complete these quests in any order and in any way you want as they are pretty much completely separated.

-Sprigatito's final evolution will be based on the Iberian linx and on a flamenco dancer. It will be Grass-Dark type and will be a kind of bulky and fast supporter that lacks in attack and special attack. Its signature move is a special version of coaching called "Encouraging Dance".

-Fuecoco's final evolution will be based on the Cucuy/Cuca, a Spanish monster. It will be a Fire-Ghost type and will be a bulky special attacker with low speed. Its signature move is a ghost type version of Eruption, called "Infernal Burst".

-Quaxly's ginal evolution will be based on Don Quijote de la Mancha. It will be a Water-Fighting type and will have very high speed and attack at the cost of minimal bulk. Its signature move is a water type version of Flare Blitz, called "Hydro Charge".

-Gyms will be removed and Exams will be introduced in their place. There will be 8 exams, but only the first one will be mandatory. You will be able to clear them in any order and difficulty will scale with the number of cleared exams. The exams will be composed of two parts: the first one will be a quest that won't generally involve battling, while the second one will be a fight aganist the "examineer", the substitutes to gym leaders. Clearing an exam will allow the player to catch higher leveled pokemon and to visit new areas that give access to more powerful species of pokemon. At any point after the first exam the player will be able to try the "final exam", a special trial that is the end goal of the game. It will be composed of a tournament aganist CPUs, but how many enemies you will have to fight will depend on the number of exams you will have cleared. With only the first exam you will have to go through 8 elimination battles consecutively, and the number will scale down for every exam you clear (at 8 completed exams you will only have to fight one battle). The levels of the pokemon of the trainers you'll face will depend on what bracket you are at. When you will have won the tournament you'll be able to fight the "elite 4" of this games, which will be 4 legendary trainers that won the tournament and passed the exam before you. By beating them you will be able to fight the "champion" of this game, which will be the director of the school you frequent. By beating him to you will graduate and obtain free access to all areas of the region, indepentently from the number of exams you cleared. Even after graduating you will still be able to pass the exams you didn't pass during the main game, but they will be much harder.

-In the post game you will be able to challenge a new facility similar to the battle tree of generation 7, but more fleshed out: the battle cathedral. It will be unlocked after graduating and completing all 8 main game exams, and it will allow you to fight aganist the champions of the past, but it won't be just a series of fights. By participating you will hand over your items, then you will be brought in an area known as "the path of champions", only accessible through this game. There you will have to orient yourself and find the right way to the end of the path, fighting wild pokemon and trainers and obtaining items along the way. The path will slightly change every time you visit it too. By getting to the end of the path you will be able to face off aganist a champion, who will also use 6 pokemon. By beating him you will be able to obtain battle points and unlock new champions to fight. By beating a certain champion 25 times they will gift you a special pokemon (E.G. Cynthia will give you a Gible with dragon dance and Alder will give you a shiny 6IV Larvesta).

-The new generational gimmick will be an inversion of typing. Once per battle a pokemon will be able to invert its weaknesses and resistances at the cost of 20% of their max HP. This will also invert how their moves interact with the enemy pokemon (fire moves used by a pokemon who transformed will now do supereffective damage aganist water and fire types but not very effective damage aganist ice and grass types). The transformation will only last for 3 turns though, then the pokemon will revert back to its original form. Some specific pokemon will also change form when using this mechanic. These specific pokemon won't lose HP when transforming, making them better users of the gimmick. There is a catch though: most of these pokemon are high risk high reward (most have type combos that make them weak defensively or offensively when their types are swapped).

sinnoh is better

-There will be two legendary pokemon. One of them will be a dark-dragon type that emits a special kind of light, capable of inverting the perception of colors (this light is what causes the type swapping in the first place). The other one will be a pure dragon type without any kind of light inside itself. During the games you will catch this pokemon and by the end of the story quest you will bring it to a special altar to have it gain its true form (which depends on what game you are playing) to prevent the first legendary I talked about from destroying the world by completely altering its balance with its power of inversion. The scarlet form, which will be called "Infrared form" is dragon fire, while the violet form, called the "Ultraviolet form" will be a dragon electric type. These two forms will be transferable to the opposite version of the game, but their form won't be changeable. Their ability will be the same and it will be able to block the effects of the regional gimmick, but as a result of that the main legendary won't be able to use it either. The dark dragon legendary instead will be able to use the mechanic, but it will work differently: it will invert its type for three turns as usual, but the inversion will only work on either the offensive or defensive type matchup, based on what the player decides at the moment of activating the gimmick (it cannot be used on both at the same time).

>I'll post an actor too!

-The player will have two main rivals: the first one will be relevant to the graduation quest and will be called Miguel. He is another student of your same school and wants to be the best one to graduate in order to become the new leader of the school when the actual leader will resign its role. He is very self confident, but he is also a sore loser to the point of recurring to foul means to ensure its victory. During the story he will start to learn that cheating doesn't make him stronger and by the end of the graduation quest he will decide to leave the school on a voyage across all regions to understand what it really means to be strong.
The second rival will instead be relevant to the story quest and will be called Megan. She is a girl that frequents the school opposite to that of the player. She is very interested in the story of the region and in fact isn't in the school to become a strong trainer but to know more about the history of the region. She is a kind and reserved person that has a crave for knowledge and is kind of naive, and these two character traits will make her exploitable and the main villain will take advantage of this to awaken the dark dragon legendary and try to destroy the balance of the world.

-The main villain will be the leader of the school opposite to that of the player. He wants to awaken the dark dragon legendary because he believes that by inverting the balance of the world his school will become the more important one, giving him power and riches. To do this he will exploit Alice, because the legendary is sealed behind a spell casted by the founders of both schools that defeated the pokemon in the past, saving the region. The seal can only be broken by someone with a pure heart and great knowledge, and Alice fits the bill while the leader doesn't as he is a powerhungry and ruthless man.

>you're not the underdog in a failing school who rises to the top and fixes his academy's honor
>instead you'll be dealing with bitter autists with an inferiority complex orbiting you and kissing your ass like tsunderes
Holy garbage

Oh hey Gen 7's trials like rounding up lost pokemon. that's kinda neat
