imo, THIS is the major problem with Goh. He’s inconsistent as fuck and only shows his flaws in focus episodes, in fillers or Ash/Chloe episodes he just acts like a slightly smarter, slightly less athletic Ash. The reason for this is of course that its easier to write this way, but if you want to have a genuine character development with real flaws you need to be consistent instead of half-assing it. This issue can be applied to the majority of the issues with PM; the staff want all of the hype and payoff with none of the substance and buildup. Lets have 50+ Kanto episodes instead!!

The "adventures" theme is over. They can't get irl kids get influenced about traveling by themselves irl and get lost, hurt or way worse. That's why sun and moon and this journeys arcs are about stay at home, go to school or travel IF you can pay the plane ticket.
