HD game development is far more expensive and harduous, so it was probably not worth it to try making a non-mainline console game on Wii U.

Because Gen 5 added the battle spot which serves the same function as the random matches in PBR. Also the Pokemon World tournament offers a similar experience to the single player campaign in PBR. And Gamefreak is lazy.

Patching games on the wii was extremely uncommon and only a small handful of games got patches. Also Gamefreak is lazy. By the way, PBR actually did have an update that added the new Rotom forms and the other platinum changes but this version of the game was only used in official tournaments. Did I mention Gamefreak is lazy?
