Be an above average 17 year old, no idea what to do: > Go to ROTC or Military academy > Become a Pilot, ideally strategic airlift or other transport > Fly for 20 years, life is comfy as an airforce pilot > Retire at 38 with a pension, congrats you're financially independent > Fly for the airlines making 200k/year to work 8 days a month, and drawing the pension. Congrats you're actually wealthy.
Don't settle for anything other than pilot, user. Any other occupation will not yield this result. In my opinion this is one of the best and most realistic, non moonshotty ways to become wealthy, while also having a job that's fun.
you fags really need to get over here this shit is cash
Carter Moore
Have fun not seeing your family for 20 years.
Sebastian Anderson
Have fun getting hijacked by muslims and flown into world trade center
Jackson Johnson
>just become a pilot bro! First off you have to be a perfect man with ZERO health flaws of any kind to even think about it, then you need to spend an absurd amount of time in education and training to even glance at the actual cockpit, and then when you finally get the job as a (co)pilot some chinese batsoup virus kills it all and you're back at square one.
You talk as if being a pilot is some perfect job, meanwhile half of them are on strike across the globe because of the extreme staffing shortages and fucked energy prices. These days working as a pilot you are basically treated as a robotic slave, all of them are beyond overworked right now. Absolutely fucked schedules, you go to work and literally have no idea when you will be asleep that day or the next day or the day after that.

It's funny. Armymen in my country don't get a pension at all. I didn't know that and I met an infantry guy who was in his 30s with utterly destroyed knees and I tried to cheer him up by saying yeah but a few more years and you get your pension. He gave this real whimsical just fuck my shit up grimace and then ranted about how the Americans have it better. Many such cases.
Alexander Hill
>NOOOO, DONT LEARN TECH >DONT BE A PART OF THE LARGEST WEALTH TRANSFER IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND >INSTEAD, LEARN TO TAKE THE BIG METAL TUBE FROM HERE TO THERE
Daniel Cooper
>ZERO health flaws That's true for going the military route, yes. You better be Captain America in high school with good grades, no drugs, no behavior problems, no pharmaceuticals, on the track team, etc.
But to go the commercial route without flying for the military, you basically just have to not have diabetes or have had a heart attack and not be a literal schizo (which does disqualify a number of people on this board).
Ian Morales
This man has it.
A cousin went through both the military and commercial courses. Not mentally fit, the guy is a massive adrenaline addict.
No refunds on the courses either.
Connor Foster
They also exist in the commonwealth. Many such cases.
Go search and rescue and enjoy your 3 days/week workschedule.
Have fun never flying commercially cause you're too scared.
Thats why you go airforce first. You join the airlines at the top rather than slaving away for 10 years at the bottom. Also, that's why in my initial post I mentioned that you've gotta be above average.
Tech is boring. At least for me. If you have what it takes to be a tech wizard by all means go for that. I'm just sharing what seems to be a largely overlooked path to wealth.
Gabriel Price
To get a military pension you have to "retire" which means 20 years in the service. Not every grunt that served 4 years gets a pension. Alternatively you can get VA disability if something happened to you.
Caleb Butler
True, but if you get a jammy job as a pilot you get to retire in your late 30s/early 40s while 99% of your peers work until their 60s or 70s. That's 30+ years of leisure.
Easton James
>retire in your late 30s/early 40s Is this considered early retirement?
Nicholas Green
62+ is standard.
Jonathan Cox
yeah
Alexander Foster
Rotc will pay for your pilot training?
Parker Morgan
You do realize that pilot jobs even in the military are basically impossible to get, right? Even in JUST the Air Force, only 3% of recruits end up being pilots.
Alexander James
I just got a clearance then went to college and still use my clearance. 100k first job out of army
Lincoln Foster
>pension fucking lol. good luck having that when the democrats in office in the future want to absolve the debt by taking everybodys social security and pension funds
Julian Cruz
Military recruiters must be having a hard time if they're lurking on Any Forums. Sell your legal prison sentence to some dumber fools.
Aaron Bennett
I fly my private jet around
Jaxon Sanders
Shhh nobody tell him about ATC comfiness
Jackson Barnes
Cope. I’m a poojeet and the recruiter almost sent me to the air force. I flaked at the last minute because unlike you Firstoids us subhumans get physically hazed, beaten and tortured as part of pilot training.
Dylan Nguyen
You stupid benchod bastard I will steal your job and fuck the Boeing plane a group
