Comfy six figure job at wagecage

>comfy six figure job at wagecage
>team is fun to work with, we all get along
>raise comes in well below inflation at 2%
>get mad and find a new job that pays 25% more
>new job is not comfy at all
>everyone I work with is an uptight corporate drone
How do I convince my old wagecage to take me back? I fucked up bros

its over retard, you can never go back

better buy some rope (ticker symbol ROPE)

you can't go back, you were going to get fired
what do you think a 2% raise was supposed to convey?

That's what you get for selling your soul for six figures

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't

If you want chill / relaxed work avoid all big consultancy firms. Not only are they likely going to pay you slightly below market rate, your workweeks will be 55 hours and paid 40 typically. Itherwuse you're out fast.

I have a job where i work on a 3-6 man team within a larger group of say 20-50 people on a project. Each project lasts between a month and a year, and the people change each project, but you get to know the people in the industry over the years and see the same faces often. My coworkers have always been awesome people and social stress is almost never a thing. The whole thing is gravy. The last 2 weeks ive been with a small group of guys i dont know, my new boss has extreme personality problems and inferiority complex that he masks with bully behavior. I seriously considered punching him today, and whole project is toxic as fuck. Got a call this afternoon to go to different project with an old boss, but pay is less, and its just to help him meet a deadline as project is wrapping up in a month or so and id need to find a new job after that. id burn a bridge with current company which has suplied me with allot of work over the years, but i really think this gig is going to end in an ugly way. I think a dozen other people feel exactly how i do right now. Should i jump ship?
I asked him a simple question for clarity today and he called me a retard to my face. He does this to everyone, but im a pretty serious person, and used to respect. Im twice his size fitness level and hes just a little older then my kids. He got his job because he goes duck hunting and 4 wheeling with project manager who larps as a countryboy on the weekends.
Im going to punch him tommorow fuck it. I wish duels were still a thing.

Thinking a 2% raise is indicative you'll get fired seems paranoid, or at least highly circumstantial. If it's OP's first year(especially if it isn't a full year) and his company isn't doing well or just OK, expecting a big raise would be ridiculous unless he's a rockstar. Hell, he could have just not gotten a raise.

OP, if you left very professionally you might still be able to go back. If you had any personal connections to anybody there, start with those. If not, check if they have your position listed and if so, apply. If not... wait.

Otherwise you could just learn to work with the others in your company. You don't have to be buddies with your coworkers, you know. It's just a job.

just be yourself dude

lol i make like 60k a year but the job is cake and my coworkers are amazing. even though i dont make that much money i cant imagine trading that for more money and more stress

Contact old job and see if you can go back.
Everyone has done what you just did.
Worse they can is say is NO and then you are no worse off than you are now.

It sucks working in shitty environment with shitty people.
Do NOT suffer years working there!
Start looking for another job.

Tell them you want to come back but you need compensation xxx,xxx which is higher than what you’re making now

this, just reapply and deal with it

Absolutely this

yup this is the downside of "just get a new job bro" that nobody talks about
current company only pays 90k but it's fully remote and everyone is chill.

you should work with the old boss IF you have good rapport with other coworkers/leaders. if you end up not controlling your emotions and go full retard and smack that shithead your going to regret it.

forgot to mention you can always go back to your other company/project whatever it is for more work, they obviously need you or employees as all companies tend to.

>same here
>comfy 6 figure job
>gf, pandemic allowed home office
>speak up because one boss is leaving, say I could be promoted
>okladthenstepitup.jpg
>now totally uncomfy, because expected to do client lunches, travel everywhere, lead team, manage shit
>still make same salary as promotion not yet through
>totally uncomfy right now

How do I tell them I just want to go back and live my comfy pandemic wagie life?

>he called me a retard to my face
That's completely unacceptable. You can't let that slide, in my opinion. You can a stand, or else accept being called a retard to your face every day you go to work
