Its because rather than use the technology for consumer friendly practices like being able to resell digital games, they use it to make even more invasive microtransactions.

I believe NFTs have a place in gaming but its not going to be as buying cosmetic or p2w items.

If a company wants to release their license for their game as an NFT I'm all for it.

They are incentivized to create more issues. Believe it or not, most gamers don't like microtransactions. Yeah they exist but they are near universally hated. You see, many of us can remember a time when you unlocked items/characters via gameplay rather than with your credit card and reject microtransactions.
