the "official" cutoff for millennials is '95ish, and zoomers begin around '99 (idk what '96-'98 are; the generation system is dumb), but in practice, actual zoomers as most people think of them (tiktok-loving, fortnite-dancing tranny xenosexuals) begin around '03 or '04, with those as late as '01 and '02 arguably having more in common with some millennials than actual zoomers. ymmv of course.
the generation system was never set with fixed periods of time, but instead aimed to outline age groups who had similar experiences coming-of-age, essentially growing up in a similar world. post-internet, however, culture and technology advance and are shared so quickly that any ~20 year span of births will have vastly different experiences even year-on-year. the generations don't work in the modern world. fuck zoomers though
