I would say someone that doesn't play many other franchises than pokemon. A lot of the fans tend to praise the narrative, but it's nothing special and more of a "big fish in a small pond" sort of thing. I don't really see an age, but if they're more vocal I would assume that they're younger and experienced a lot of stigma for liking them as a kid and are trying to overcompensate.

i hate gen 5's narrative, I play the gen 5 games because they're fun.

That's normal. I don't hate the games either, I just notice that the most zealous of the fans tend to really harp on pokemon finally becoming "mature" and seeing them fellate themselves over Team Plasma and that N castle scene is just embarrassing.
