I cried at the same thing. A large part of it was because I finished XY (last gym and league) after nearly six years of not touching Pokemon. Seeing AZ reunited with his Floette was beautiful and almost relatable.

When I was a kid my friend traded me all the starters when I got the game.
A few days later I got stuck and decided to make a new save so I could play until I worked out how to get past that point. Little did I know the game only has one save per cartridge.
I ended up bawling my eyes out in a doctors waiting room, 20 years later I am back in the same doctors waiting room minus the tears.
