they're perfectly fine remakes. they didn't set the bar any lower than what they've done with remakes before, really
the problem is the $60 price tag is ludicrous, and at that point you have to blame the fanbase for being willing to pay that much for what would've made more sense as $10 eshop ports of platinum (which is already a ridiculous price since you should just be emulating it for free)
