Why did GameFreak give up on making difficulty modes?
Lucas Clark
Dylan Allen
because sinnoh sucks lol
Daniel Nguyen
because everything gen 5 did was a mistake.
Ethan Campbell
because it didn't actually add difficulty and anyone who cares about getting difficulty from pokemon already just plays PvP.
Jason Flores
Because difficulty modes are retarded
Adrian Williams
Two lazy buffoons are in charge of the franchise.
Adrian Morgan
>The difficulty level is also related to the amount of Pokemon you carry
And they say that about SwSh of all Pokemon games. fucking faggets
usually it's making a bigger team that takes more effort but rewards you, and here it's "pick less Pokemon if you want the game to be harder™", all for it to be a fucking breeze then
Angel Lee
Challenge Mode was so ubtuse to unlock that few people even bothered (This is on Gamefreak for the record) and IIRC Challenge Mode actually made a couple of fights easier cause the new teams were worse or something.
Christopher Morales
>Challenge Mode actually made a couple of fights easier cause the new teams were worse or something.
It's sort of a mix of that and the fact you'd end up higher leveled (and thus end up with stronger Pokemon with better moves) sooner.
Jack Cox
Absolutely 0% players played it due to retarded unlock method
Angel Hughes
Because GF is the epitome of one step forward two steps backward. They'd rather come up with some flashy new half-assed gimmick instead of polishing old beloved features that weren't perfect.
Mason Torres
in addition to this, the game actually calculates enemy stats before applying the challenge mode level adjustment, so enemies are statistically weaker than they appear

>Easy Mode
Gen 1 style. Trainer pokemon have their level up sets and that’s it. 0 ivs, 0 evs, neutral nature. Exp share and affection always on
>Standard Mode
Boss trainers may have a few evs and their movesets have tms added for coverage. AI uses modicum of strategy. Exp share togglable, affection togglable
>Challenge
All trainers use good natures, have perfect ivs, and ev spreads (how many evs depends on how far in the game you are). Gym leaders use more variety in teams to counter weaknesses and past the third gym all have a full team of 6. Trainers may switch out pokemon. Trainer pokemon may have hidden abilities or egg moves. No affection, exp share not given until after defeating the champion. Power items and a gift pokemon with pokerus given early on to accomodate. Wild pokemon may rarely be found with their hidden ability.
Would this work?
Levi Gomez
Somewhat, yeah.
Nolan Hall
No because Pokemon games are meant to be replayed and you’ve made it where anyone that didn’t play through on hard mode is at a permanent disadvantage.
Luis Lopez
*NOT meant to be replayed.
James Moore
>implement a difficulty mode
>have to beat game to unlock it
>delete save to replay on hard mode
>now the hard mode key is gone
t-thanks
Andrew Rogers
I fail to see the problem. Could have standard mode give you the power items and pokerus after beating the champion and wild pokemon could also spawn with HA as well. If you play on easy mode then you must either be an illiterate child or game journalist and so you wouldn’t enjoy competitive anyway
Austin Lopez
This attitude is exactly why they don’t add difficulty modes, just mucks up the game design and results in retarded community gatekeeping
Justin Hernandez
They never really tried
Jordan Sullivan
The Key System was retarded and this made GF think “Arrrrrr gaijin hate whore concept, scrap it0
