Kanto "Pandering"

According to Any Forums, the image on the left is Kanto pandering by a region with no identity except KANTOOOO.
On the right is the scenic Sinnoh region.

sinnoh and kanto are next to each other, dumb bort

All pokemon games are Kanto pandering, yes even Unova.

cope

Cool, now show the part of the Sinnoh games where you have to get rid of a Snorlax blocking the road so you can go get your Kanto starter after passing through a location that inexplicably looks exactly like one from Kanto.

Sinnoh didnt add a Snorlax because it would defeat their epic joke of locking it behind 1 random tree in the whole region

Pokemon are not Kanto pandering.
Alola and Galar are the only ones that really made it a trend.

You can say that as many times as you want, it will never be true.

Or how about the part where your first wild encounter is hard coded to be a Kanto mon

Kanto pandering is making half the megas from Gen 1, making them all for the starters who didn't need one, giving Charizard two Megas along with Mewtwo, proceed to spotlight Snorlax blocking your path... and then failing to give your region or villains or vhampions any personality so people only remember the Kanto.

I remember all the other things, but most faggots didn't and it simply the rise of Kanto Pandering because of the lack of older Pokemon being brought back for Black/White routes which is why Black2/White 2 fixed it.

It isn't helped by Gen 7 and 8 also pandering with all Alolan Pokemon being from the original 151, Galar making most of the Gigantomax Pokemon Kanto or Galar (I recall the only one that isn't is Garbador).

To end off, Sinnoh is simply reusing older Pokemon since they exist in multiple places. No one jerks off or talks about Kanto as much or at all. The most you get is someone from Johto visiting. There is no focus or promotion of Gen 1 Pokemon in Gen 4 besides some Baby forms and evolutions for Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2. It's not on par to the shilling from recent titles that we are fucking tired of Kanto and I hope Gen 9 can see that.

Just mentioning Kanto isn't "pandering" dipshit, if that was the case Unova would be the one being pandered to

Isn't it pretty much said Kanto and Galar are the most battle oriented regions? It would make sense most people there to see it would be from one of those regions.

Most of the time Unova is mentioned it's an actual reference.
Almost every time Kanto is shoehorned in Alola and Galar it feels hamfisted and unnatural

Unless you're mindbroken by Kanto, neither of those is even bad.

>a random NPC talking about people from another region is unnatural
>a forest looking exactly like one in another region isn't
This is your mind on discord

The worst games for kanto pandering are the johto games. They literally gimp their own region just so KANTOOOOO gets the spotlight for the 6 millionth time.

This, apparently the existance of anything related to the first gen is a flaw apparently.
Even after Legends outright cut Charizard from the game, people still sperg out and make "Charizard bad" threads

>Kanto pandering is making half the megas from Gen 1

>There is no focus or promotion of Gen 1 Pokemon in Gen 4 besides some Baby forms and evolutions for Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2.

Of the 48 mega evolutions introduced in Gen VI, 15 (31.25%) are mega evolutions of Kanto Pokemon. Of the 27 cross-generation Pokemon introduced in Gen IV, 12 (44.4%, 40.7% if you don't count Porygon Z) are Kanto evolutions/preevolutions. According to you, 44.4% is "some" and 31.25% is "half." Double standard much?

>No one jerks off or talks about Kanto as much or at all. The most you get is someone from Johto visiting.

Maybe play the games then? If Samson Oak in Alola and a single legendary bird in the Sea Spirit's Den in Kalos count as Kanto pandering, then the original Oak appearing in his house in Eterna City to tell you about how all three birds have mysteriously migrated from KANTO to their new home in Sinnoh is also Kanto pandering. The Legendary Birds are roamers in Sinnoh and with their addition, Platinum has a grand total of five roamers (Mesprit, Cresselia, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres), which is more than any other game. HGSS is a close second with the three Beasts and either Latias or Latios).

XY is the only pre-Switch game where I never bothered using repels because the random encounters were actually fun and varied enough to actually be worth seeing. Can you imagine that? The Pokemon part of a Pokemon game actually being fun?

"kanto pandering" is gimping your own region just to fit a neutered kanto on the same cart lol

>The worst games for kanto pandering are the johto games.
The games are meant to be a sequels to Kanto and they have much more variety in number of Kanto Pokemon than Sinnoh does. If you want to play Diamond and Pearl (and, to a lesser extent, Platinum too), you better get used to half of your encounters being the Machop line, Geodude line, or Route 1 shitmons with the occasional Medicham and Ponyta.

>Cool, now show the part of the Sinnoh games where you have to get rid of a Snorlax blocking the road
But removing Psyduck from the road gets a free pass even though it involves LESS gameplay, right?

There's a region or two in between Sinnoh and Kanto, but they're definitely on the same landmass.

>NOOOOOOO IT'S OKAY WHEN JOHTO DOES IT
Meds.
