Great Balls are for squares, and I'm kind of impressed most of you seem to agree.
I personally use Premier or Poké Balls for everything, but I'll use Ultra and Timer if I'm feeling impatient. I don't obsess.
However, I would argue that the Master Ball is underrated. It makes for an easy catch, but it sends the message "I wanted the fucker in this ball so much I spent my only win button." It's the only ball that tells a good story.
