We've had 5 Champions that specialise in type

We've had 5 Champions that specialise in type.

1 of those Champions specialised in 2 types.

2 of those Champions specialised in the same type.

We've only seen 5 different types for Champions out of the 18 available types.

Which type would you personally like to see used for the next Champion? We've had too many 'variety' Champions so I think we need another mono/dual type Champion.

I hope we get either a mono Electric Champion or a Fairy/Ground Champion.

Monotype champions shouldn't be a thing anymore

Gym leaders have to be type specialists, champion shouldn't

>Diantha is a rock type specialist because she uses 2 rock types on 1 of her teams.
Might as well call he a dragon specialist because she uses Goodra and Tyrantrum, and actually uses the Goodra on her Chateau teams.

I think Alder is the best example of how a type specialist Champion should be. Monotype teams are way too easy to combat. But it is neat flavor to have the champion prefer a certain type. Especially if it's reflected in their team for non-champion fights. Champions should build their teams around certain strategies not types, in my opinion.

user it's Steven

>Which type would you personally like to see used for the next Champion?
Manmade and Machine and Synthetic Pokemon

Which is what Cyrus's team should have been

Wasn't Steven steel?

Lol I'm retarded and didn't realize Steven was the dual type specialist. That being said Steven probably has one of the worst teams of a champion, barring monotype champions.

Also isn't Lance more of a flying specialist as Champ than anything? His GS and HGSS team is dragon themed but has 6 flying types.

Cynthia's Platinum team should be the gold standard of existing Champ teams. Good type variety, uses mostly Gen 4 mons. Even her BW and BW2 teams are good examples of what a Champion should look like.

Cuttthroat Buisnessman who uses Pokemon who fight dirty (thus inferred Dark Type preference, but the idea is just "Pokemon that Cheat" the Dark Type is not mandatory, hell if you can reuse the Klara and Avery gimmick that is even better that shit was fun (if ineffective).), who acts gruff and cold to everyone but Pokémon.

Honestly i feel like they could do the "Evil Team Leader is the Champion" concept again since N was very much a last moment thing and just a fake leader, and never entered the Hall of Fame and even the kinda got cucked by Dennis.

he's supposed to be "land" specialist, while Wallace is "sea" specialist

everyone forgets about steven's claydol

>N
>Evil

cynthia is so boring, her team doesn't have theme

See:
>since N was very much a last moment thing and just a fake leader

>Cynthia's Platinum team should be the gold standard of existing Champ teams.
This. The Champion’s team should reflect the region like Cynthia’s

I'm sure they just got attached/competent with their team and battle style on the rise to the top, doesnt that make sense?

>be strongest trainer
>restrict yourself to a theme
Also arguably Cynthia's theme is rare Pokemon and perhaps 'beautiful' Pokemon. Spiritomb and Lucario aren't found in the wild in Gen 4. Garchomp is a pseudo. Milotic has Feebas bullshit. Togepi is usually a gift mon and can be found via Radar in Gen 4.

roselia and shellos are not rare at all

>and perhaps 'beautiful' Pokemon.
>Roserade isn't 'beautiful'
...

I can't believe I never got this

>Shellos

Good thing Gastrodon is replaced after DP. Roserade also gets replaced in the BDSP final rematch fight by Porygon-Z. Which I believe doubles down on the rare Pokemon theme for her champion fights.
