Was USUM the worst "third version" ever? I didn't play it either because from what I understood the only real difference was a couple of new Ultra Beasts and the Rainbow Rocket event. They also made Lusamine a worse character for some reason.

No clue, I never understood how people felt any meaningful difference between SM and USUM story/Lusamine, partly because I haven't pirated it past the Ultra Necrozma fight
For me it's still less disappointing than Crystal or Platinum though, compared to their base versions
