pokemon could use a splash of color, so many pokemon means you should make a small effort to have them stand out

Never, they want to match the official artworks. I miss the saturation too but it is gone now.

It's funny because now the official artwork has a lot of more saturation.

Sprites were oversaturated
Charizard looks ridiculous in the third column

Not really

when will pokemon fans actually play pokemon games instead of mindlessly bitching over nothing

Can't you read?
>New artwork
That artwork of Nidoking is decades old.

I know why they did it, it's just stupid. Plus, the anime often was just as saturated or close to the saturation of the sprites in the OP pic

no he doesn't, the more vibrant colors suit Charizard better. Washed out looks dumb.

>New artwork
Meants "Now the official artwork", specifically "Now"

>New artwork

No such thing
Every pokemon has one main official artwork, which is the one that matters
Bootleg shit like Home/Dream World...etc are second-hand trash

I'm talking about the artwork for the new Pokemon and forms, look at Picrel, both are supposed to be the same color but the artwork of Alolan Dugtrio is much more saturated. The new artwork is just much more saturated.

Left = slightly undersaturated
Right = very oversaturated

Mewtwo actually looks better with less saturated colors, IMO.
Blastoise too, honestly.

That crayon blue blastoise looks like dog shit

>name pokemon after a color
>dont use color

Anti-saturation sisters...

When they realize that it exists as a slider they could do in 5 seconds.

Why is it so hard to get the right saturation/shading mix? The models end up too washed out most of the time but the sprites were also oversaturated. Where's the middle ground?

>vibrant bad!
I couldn't give less of a shit about what Pokemon are "supposed" to look like and you can't make me, if a Pokemon looks better when vibrant, it should be that vibrant, end of story.

Because you're some zoomer piece of shit used to oversaturated colors
Tamer colors are better and comfier
