In the end what was the actual reason for the dex cut?

To remove Pokemon that were taking attention way from CHARIZARD

Gamefreak must hang

fucking none of course?

to sell you Home for 15$ a year

PLA had new animations. SWSH was thrown under the bus with Dexit so PLA and SV didn’t look bad.

It's to avoid rebalancing the 300 or so monsters not in Sword, Shield, or their expansions so that they aren't obsolete in battle.

Maintaining a complete national Pokedex is something most players never bother with. I guess Game Freak just doesn't think it's worth the time or effort anymore.

Because the game was rushed? We've known this since day one

Renew the meta by removing and reintroducing pieces.
SwSh meta was great, BDSP meta was great.
USUM and ORAS was stagnant trash with the same exact teams.

genuinely laziness, if pokemon Gold and Silver was made by the gamefreak of today Kanto wouldn’t even be put in. Iwata-san! Please come back!

Actually, I never considered that. But it makes sense.

This. Also, less mons means the value of individual mons is increased. The dexcut was necessary to combat the mon inflation.

Kanto was always in the original plan, but Game Freak realized making making the whole of Japan the overworld was putting the cart before the horse on their giant newfound money making machine.

to save money. there is no other reason. there was never another reason. stop being retarded and believing blatant pr lies.

Sell them back as dlc. Ofc this didn't go as planned because of the major uproar from fans

They probably unironically did it in SwSh just to set a precedent so LA and SV could be made. Doomers denied it for years but both games would've been in early development by the time SwSh released.

You'd think they'd be able to do this whilst allowing players to have any mon in single player/the campaign.

Forcing home suscriptions, we've been through this.
>It's to avoid rebalancing the 300 or so monsters not in Sword, Shield,
They never perfomed an entire roster rebalance, not to mention you can filter for battles as it already happens in competitions.
Try playing the games.
You too, you're full of shit.

Money from selling back the pokemon to dumb fanboys, you retard. How could you have not realized this by now?

ACTUAL reason being that they didn't want to end up with a game including 3000 pokemon to program and animate, the dexcut was a preventive measure to avoid guargantuan workloads.
Wether you think this is respectable or not is irrelevant.

>Toxapex and Landorus still on the top of the meta just like the last game

>program

>only 2 posters got it right
Any Forums is full of children

Yes, but now you can counter them with Metapod, thanks to Pansear not being in the game.

Yes it takes work to add pokemon dumbass

Oh yeah it just so happen that it was in contemporary with them shilling Home as the ONLY solution to the Nat Dex
And it just so happens the 3DS managed around 1000 (i'm counting forms as well) just fine
Dumb frogposter

Laziness

this
>create problem
>sell solution

>no new animations
except there is, it’s just not battle ones. It’s that Amie shit, which desu isn’t even that bad since it gives life to the mons. Amie-esque features were a great addition of content.

>add
Also, it taking work to implement pokemon in a game doesn't mean its programming one.
Nigga, they don't do shit in camp.

to keep the cart size small so they can save on costs. they did it blatantly in bdsp too

obvious in hindsight

sandycheekscockvore

They had to add the animations. We covered this years ago.

They still have to program to add a pokemon. Are you stupid?

Remember how in the Sword and Shield story the bad guy was castrated for preparing for events thousands of years down the line where we'd all be dead? That's the same logic.

>no new animations
There were several, it's just that they were largely Dynamaxing ones and weren't that plentiful to begin with. Pokemon like Raichu, Arcanine, and Weavile has anims for Dynamax "roars" that weren't used anywhere else

Not really, that's not how software works.

You have no clue how software works. How do they add pokemon then user? They press the add charizard button?
