Nostalgia for those who were in the original Pokemania pretty much ends at Fossil. Some stuck through to base 2 and rocket but most dropped the hobby (the tcg part anyways) at that point. But the difference between gym and neo is that gym still had huge print numbers as it was the transitional set from boom to bust.

I never got my stuff graded but I'd clean them lightly, like two strokes with a cloth that doesn't scratch and doesn't leave lint around, always wearing latex gloves indeed.

Blastoise too. Does this kind of defect affect the grading result though? you can fix that by keeping the card tightly slabbed in the middle of a thick book for a month or two.
