You can tell how warped people's view of reality is by the media they are subjected to. The church has no higher molestation rates than any other institution of it's size, if anything it's lower than you'd expect once you really look into it. The reason why the meme that priests are molesters spreads the way it does it's because it makes for very strong headlines. The Church by it's doctrine alone continues to be one of the biggest throns in the side of Golobohomo, they wish nothing more than to have it destroyed or become super gay. Despite all the pushes to corrupt it from everywhere including from the current Pope the original doctrine remains and explicitely stands against many of the things that are promoted today.

To add to this, it would be very easy for the Church to turn back towards heavy traditionalist values at any time. If you want to see Globohomo's biggest fear you have to look no further than the HBO series The Young Pope, during the beginning of it when the new Pope gets anointed he goes hardcore traditionalist and brushes of all attempts to subvert him with extreme prejudice. Because the series is from HBO, it tries it's best to make the Pope look evil and bad for doing this and paints all the subversive priests as heroes but you can tell very easy that this scenario strikes at the deepest fear of the liberal elite. The groundwork for the Church to become this way is there and they hate it.
