>The two best games in the series are also the only two games in the series designed as sequels instead of as iterations (Gen 2 and BW2)
>Iterative entries are the cause of the dex bloating up with dozens of route 1 shitmons and legendary pantheons (Which in itself was the eventual cause of the dex cut, and is the ongoing cause of the fact that there's too many Pokemon to ever really develop the series representation of any of them), feature retention being non-existent in the series, the terrible production pipeline that leaves every Pokemon game unfinished
>Every iterative entry since the series has gone 3D has been bad, and not only that, progressively getting worse game to game
>Despite this, the fanbase is CLAMORING for a Gen 9
>Even in the face of Gamefreak outright saying Legends was the future direction of the franchise upon reveal, and now having the sales figures to back it up
There is no gen 9. And if you like good games, you shouldn't WANT a gen 9. It's no coincidence that the best Pokemon game in a decade didn't just iterate on what existed previously and only added like 20 Pokemon. Gens were killing this series, the only reason gen 4 and 5 turned out fine was the low demand of making a DS game.

Pretty smart post actually

>make a spin-off series called Legends
>Say they'll make more spin-off games under Legends
>FUTURE DIRECTION NO GEN 9
Nice falseflag, retard. Enjoy SwSh 2.0 with online play as the focus, dlc as postgame, and Legends Mew

But Legends isn't a spinoff

>gen 2
>best games in the series
Lol
The reality isn't "sequels good" it's that more time on the same or similar systems has led to growth. Gen 5 made many improvements on gen 4, 7 over 6, 2 over 1. Considering how much legends has done we can expect the same for gen 9.

>Nooooo GF made the spin-off so it isn't a spin-off!
It literally is a spin-off

Not pictured: Literally any gameplay

Yes yes we were all very impressed with the online features when gen 6 launched user. The fun that players made with one another doesn't excuse the sin of game design that is gen 6.

>battle facilities suddenly aren't gameplay when it doesn't fit the narrative

based retard

Every Pokemon game except PLA has the same gameplay.

Gen 6 was a step down from Gen 5, and Gen 7 was an even bigger step down from Gen 6.
The only uptick we've gotten was Let's Go (fucking lol) and Legends.

>Gen 6 was a step down from Gen 5
prove it

Gen 5 is a finished product. Gen 6 got left to rot without getting fleshed out.

>Gen 5 is a finished product
So is Gen 6.

>1 Maison vs 1 train
It's 1 content to 1 content. Towers are the most boring battle facility anyway.

What about fun encounter in the main game? Post game story? Legendaries to catch? Things to do?

Of course we ignore these things. Because we know X and Y even having a game part is done out of obligation because Gamefreak can't resell a trade and battle sim biyearly. The game doesn't even have Elite Four rematches for shit sake, Diantha and Lysandre are the only trainers in the entire story that have 6 Pokemon OR Mega Evolution.

Not pictured: Anywhere outside of the buildings navigating around the actual city because you know Lumiose is quite literally the biggest disaster Gamefreak has ever cobbled together.

Gen 5:
>156 Pokemon
Gen 6:
>72 Pokemon
Simple as. That's not even considering the gameplay elements that were beloved in BW2 that weren't present in Gen 6. XY is more of a sidestep from BW than a successor to BW2.
>So is Gen 6.
No it isn't.

>discorders unironically arguing with each other because they can't decide which scapegoat to use
Always fun to see.

>Discord getting upset it's been called out and resorts to calling other people the Discord

XY will always be the downfall. There is no argument here. You can play BW, enjoy it, then play XY and be disappointed at the discrepancies, and then play SM/USUM/SWSH and be livid at how much of a shittier game it is compared to everything else.
Cope, seethe, and dilate.

Gen 6 was fine as the first main series title to finally stop being cheap and upgrade to 3D models (which people have wanted since seeing them in Stadium). The problem is Gen 6 was unpolished and needed a Z version. ORAS was 1 step forward and 2 steps back. And then Gen 7 was an embarrassing attempt at story and cutscene focus instead of actually fixing the issues with 6. Gen 8 while less obnoxious than 7 in terms of story has a more obnoxious gimmick and then the wild area is a complete mess.
PLA is a fantastic game that needs to be learned from in order to make Gen 9 at the quality people want. But people still want Gen 9 and I don't think they're wrong to ask for it. Pokemon will stagnate without adding new Pokemon eventually.

Discord can try as they might but they will never be able to rewrite reality:
>Gen 3 marked a freefall in popularity that Gen 4 stabilized and started to climb out of
>The DS games are collectively the strongest run of the main series, from Platinum, to HGSS, and BW 1 and 2 you have 3 amazing games and 1 good game (BW1)
>The switch to 3D marked a decade long dark age that only got worse and worse until Legends happened

>It's 1 content to 1 content
Maison has more to do than the Subway.

>What about fun encounter in the main game
XY has more encounters in the main game.

>Post game story
XY has the Looker episode wile BW has fuck all except for the Sages having one line of dialogue each.

>Legendaries to catch
XY has more Pokemon to catch.

>Things to do?
XY has PR videos, Amie minigames, Super Training, Trainer customization, berry farming, restaurant battles, inverse battles, while BW has musicals, and....uh......um......

Gen 5:
>649 Pokemon
Gen 6:
>721 Pokemon
Simple as. That's not even considering the gameplay elements that were beloved in XY that weren't present in Gen 5. BW2 is more of a sidestep from BW than a successor to BW.

>No it isn't.
Yes it is.
