But Jessie's mom dying is a part of the plot in the radio drama version of The Birth of Mewtwo. She dies searching cold mountaintops for Mew while thinking about how much she needs the money from her job so Jessie can go to college and whatever.

Giovanni is one of my favourite pokemon characters, and every time they use him he gets worse. At least I can rest safe in the knowledge they'd never make this game, OP.
