He doesn't do anything bad really, and his attempts to stop you are more like himbo shit as opposed to real malice. He just likes the pokemon he cares about to be strong, and he thinks being strong and appreciated is a good thing. But he's also a little dumb and childish, and I love that.

His bitchiness is the appeal, he's so ineffective and petty that it's endearing. And I like that he talks so fondly about Electrode (like with the whole Cresselia thing).
He just has way more bark than most characters who blend into the 'nice but kinda generic Pokemon NPC' type.
For reference, the Adaman/Melli tag is ツバセキ so I usually just search for that on twitter then go through the media tab/likes of any artists that draw him nicely. His japanese name is ツバキ but that's also the name of a flower and a fire emblem character so it'd be much harder just finding stuff by searching that.
