I have always liked both of their designs but there isn't a single fun/interesting thing they seem to be able to do in game. Bastiodon just looks like Metal Burst/Stealth rock the pokemon and Rampardos is just nuke someone and then die on the next turn the pokemon. Do these guys have any flexibility in what they can do? Aggron can do both of these things in one set.

Bastiodon would be at least useable with those defensive stats if not for the absolutely horrible typing. It really needs Solid Rock or Filter or something at least.
Rampardos is just way too slow to do anything except die immediately even with the massive attack. Move 40ish points from its HP into Speed and give it Accelerock and then it could actually be a pretty interesting if incredibly gimmicky Pokemon.

Sturdy is a pretty solid ability for the 4x weakness. Even like a rogue unexpected Earth Power or whatever else will never one shot Bastiodon so it will either get a gaurenteed stealth rock or probably kill whatever hit it with metal burst. Which is fine, but, I think that right there is literally the only possible thing I can think to do with bastiodon.

I prefer the ones that are more colorful like Cherrim, Yanmega, and Rosersde and the ones that aren't blue/black like Floatzel, Hippowdon, Mothim, Mamoswine, Vespiquen, Gallade, etc. Dislike the blue edgy shillmons with spikes like Lucario, Garchomp, and Toxicroak.

Slowpoke is a shillmon. Azalea town literally has Slowpoke lying around (Violet had Sprout Tower, but there aren't constant reminders of Bellsprout everywhere in the city). Slowpoke Tail is referenced throughout GSC and in later games. The Slowpoke lines also received Mega evolutions and regional forms. And it's not just because it's "KANTO" either. Dodrio and Dewgong never received any gimmick forms.
