>Hidden Power has been updated to be Unown's exclusive signature move >It has changed from being a random type (aligned to a plate) to working identical to Judgement Plate Arceus.
BOW TO ALMIGHTY SINNOH'S ANGELS, THE MORTAL FORME OF HIS THOUSAND ARMS.
If only Unown's stats weren't god awful, I've liked these things since the third movie but even with the Hidden Power rework it was too shitty to use in PLA
Caleb Miller
shame that they’re getting dexcut nextgen.
Henry Gonzalez
>GF makes Pokemon based on the English alphabet to use as a writing system in the games >years later GF creates a new fake writing system for the games that is not based on the English alphabet What does it mean...
Oliver Phillips
why did they suddenly start associating unown with arceus in HGSS
Jayden Edwards
I like the association, they even look like Arceus' wheel thing
"Suddenly"? Was Arceus even officially available before HGSS release
Alexander Perry
I think it has been a thing since the third movie. Not related to arceus of course but as sort of the building blocks of reality In the Darkrai movie when Palkia and Dialga are fighting in between dimensions unowns are seeing flying around with every attack
Parker Phillips
Is the smaller black dot that looks like a pupil actually their whole eye?
Nathan Jenkins
>>years later The fake language came first, retard.
Gavin Powell
It's an anime abstraction.
Cooper Harris
Unown were in gen 2 I don't remember their current fake language until XY
Carson Morales
So what you're saying is that you started playing pokemon in gen 6. Good to know.
Easton Scott
Exhibit B, the similarity between Unown and Arceus's ring.
They got the idea from the anime, which started using a fake writing system in order to have text that can just be text without having to be modified for different language versions. They liked that idea so they went with it. So the fake writing represents modern day writing and the unown represents ancient day writing.
>Introduce mysterious letter monsters with lore related to ancient past, but not fully explained yet >Years later in the same generation those get a remake, you have introduced the pokégod >Bible goes "'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Bam, both lores connected.
Elijah Ramirez
Anyone outside of Japan would just assume this is Japanese anyway so they didnt achieve anything by doing this
Michael Morgan
Either way, they seemed to enjoy the idea, to the point where they didn't just design a Galarian alphabet but then came up with ways to stylize it for everyone's in-game signature.
Give Nebby hidden power and Unown beast boost and schooling ability
Noah Sanchez
They achieved the ability to do keyboard smashes instead of bothering to write anything in any language for a guidebook that appears onscreen for a few seconds
Colton Sanchez
A Pokeball as well
Aaron Peterson
Not him but you're full of shit. The new ingame text wasn't present until way after gen 2. Kanto in Johto gyms even clearly fucking read "GYM" on them in English.
