If gym leaders scaled to your level I could possibly understand your autism fixation with wanting to do this, but they don't. There's no reason to fight them out of order and ruin the natural progression of the game; unless you're a speedtranny.

yes user, that's the trade off... you can skip a gym that you are weak against in exchange for facing off against higher levels.

you forgot to add the part where almost every single part of the game has optional dungeons you can access either before the gym or later in the game

Because you can do the Volcano Badge right after the Rainbow, Thunder and Marsh Badges, provided you already have the Soul Badge.

Can't you skip Thunder, Rainbow and Marsh until after Volcano? You only need Soul in order to surf to Cinnabar
