Literally ZERO threads about the Optimism exploit that caused the current 23% dump because the wallet that stole the...
qrd?
implications for eth?
so is optimism ruined? I've been messing around with some of the defi stuff on there like aave and velodrome but I fortunately didn't get any optimism yet. Should I just put what I was going to put into optimism into metis instead?
kek its over for opi-s
lol lmao even
wasnt optimism the L2 that said they werent going to release a token because it skews incentives?
I literally just gave a qrd you fucking faggot. Why would a not needed scam L2 affect ETH?
because eth's whole future is riding on L2?
thread 1 thread 2
why nothing on rekt yet
"L2s are as secure as the L1"
Honestly every maxi who keep recycling this subhumanity should be lined up and shot, It's like they completely turned a blind eyes to the fact 99% of hacks/bugs are due to engineering holes which stem from complexity to begin with, And L2s, Especially advanced ZK stuff, Are beyond what even the most complex system in this space rightnow can even scratch.
Even the most mature systems in the world rightnow have critical bugs every once in a while, But the risk of critical bugs/coding imperfection in decentralised systems is much much higher because it's mostly irreversible.
Not saying it's not worth the experiment, It's interesting idea and kinda make sense (There are many shortcuts on the way to make it work' at least in the short-mid term) but other scaling philosophies should be encouraged, I feel like this whole modular narrative is being forced as a result of Ethereum current handicap.
