Here's what I think:
WFH means no travel and no expenses associated with it, so WFH will have extra cash. That extra cash goes freely into local things like rent, coffee, avocados, whatever. Those renters and merchants will raise the price of things now because people 'can afford to pay more'. The locals who travel for work get the double whammy...paying more for gas and such and then not having that 'extra cash' to pay for cost increases.

it's great being on the opposite end; wife and I bought our house in California at the right time, refinanced at the right time.
A lot of my coworkers are moving away. I work from home most of the time, but this gives me more bargaining power because when a body needs to be on-site, I can do it. I'm salaried but I refuse to work OT or take calls outside hours. If they fire me they're left holding a bag of useless flyover state liabilities.
Might quit in a few months, we'll see.
