Obviously importing handles most transactions, but in theory if you use a shit brokerage or have some single stocks or dividends outside the system (like through computershares) then you'd have to manually record things, right?

You don't have to submit every trade.
Also the wash sale rule is retarded and whoever created it should burn in hell for all eternity, there is no reason for it to apply to retail traders.
