Fell for the trade meme

>fell for the trade meme
>have to reach the worksite at 7 am
>meaning you have to wake up at 5 am
>work ends when the sun is down
>lazy faggots get promoted for doing nothing because its a union
>senior journeyman doesn't teach or let me do any of the technical work so I don't get any experience and makes me do all the menial tasks
>risk my life getting electrocuted everyday

Kek
>learn to code
>spend entire life on computer in darkness
>salary goes down over time as industry gets saturate
>no other skills than coding. unable to pivot from oversaturated job
back to college u go codemonkey

Yep I've recently found out all jobs are fucking retarded no matter where you go. White collar or blue collar it's always nepotism and being hyper social with your coworkers is the best way to move up. Sadly this leads to incompetent management, and it just sucks to work anywhere due to this.

you can avoid electrocution by wearing boots and not laying power cords in puddles you fucking 3rdy

>Foreman at the nuclear power plant I work at makes like $150k/year base salary + another 50-80k for going to different power plants for shutdowns every year
>lives in a rotten shack in nowhere, flyover with his son that also makes a fuckload of money but they spend it all on gambling, booze, and new trucks they crash

If you want to know if you can “make it” in real life, I suggest trialing yourself at an MMORPG like WoW and find out who the best guild on your server is.

If you can work your way into a guild, work your way up in the guild, to the point where you’re basically the co-leader all the way up from being a newfag trial/recruit, then you know you have the skills to move up in the workplace.

Every single officer/leader role from my WoW guild from 2007-2010 is now in prestigious job positions that requires working ones way up.

Working your way up in a WoW guild (especially the best guild on your server) is like training wheels for working your way up in the real world.

Yeah this. The fantasy of easy fuck around jobs is just that, a fantasy. They're either rare, guarded by nepotism or there's some sadistic shit hidden in the background.

i have realized making an honest living is just not possible. the absolute BEST skill you can learn is to grift and scam openly. enjoy getting outearned 100 times over by zoomers simply because they understand this

>Learn to code
>Graduate top of my class with compsci and finance degree
>Apply for job in government
>Get comfy position paying 6 figures +25% bonus paid direct to retirment fund.
>Work hard for 2 years and all the boomers start retiring.
>Get comfy management role
>Spend most days just fucking around reading emails.
>Every now and then i get all paid expense trip to meet some CEO in my country and talk about how government can support their company (mainly agri-tech).
>All it took was a semblance of technical knowledge and some people skills.
Get a comfy government job, they are offering great terms if you have any talent because everyone wants to work for FAANG. If you move up you could probably laterally jump into an executive position at a good private firm if you want to

>work from home
>wake up at 9:30
>lazily tumble my way to the kitchen
>have breakfast
>10:45
>"oh my goodness look at the time, I'm gonna be late!"
>connect to 15min daily standup meeting
>make up some bullshit about what I did yesterday
>disconnect
>???
>have lunch
>???
>3pm
>do some actual work for 3 hours if lucky
>"now I have an excuse about what I did today for tomorrow's meeting!"
>rinse and repeat

That's like most of my days. This is my favorite meme job.

cringe

Lol at my company we automatically throw away resumes’ from people who used to work gov jobs

Gov workers are known in the private sector for being extremely lazy and incapable

How come I do really well in terms of economics in MMOs but in real life I'm a shit coin/stock trader working in IT wagecuck. Like I'm really good at trading in general, once I get an idea of how the economy works. I've transfered this mostly to buying and sell shit to people on places like FB market buying low and selling high essentially.
Don't know what jobs will make good use of my skill set, without going to college

Awwwwwwe poor baby couldn’t pass his trial rank kek

Ahahahahaha I know who you are. Get ready for a shitty day tomorrow, pussy.

WHAT A LIFE

Agreed. Also, you can code comfortably to whatever age you want.

My tradie friends are already worrying about their bodies are giving out and they haven't even hit their 40s yet.

Imagine thinking hard work is why companies hire ex-government workers.

After a few years in the trades getting my journeyman's ticket I came to the same conclusions. It isn't fun being forced to devote 14-16 hours/day solely on work, hygiene and eating because the only other thing you can fit into that schedule is sleep unless you want to be tired all day. Besides the fact at least half of the guys you work with are either depressed, alcoholics, obese, or just plain stupid. Get out as soon as you can if you are still able, before you know it you will be multiple years in praying to make it to retirement without getting seriously injured by someone else's mistake.

Looks like you all need some good QOM bags

Went to the casino with them a few times, easily 4 digit losses in 4 hours. Fucking ridiculous.

i know a senior codemonkey and he says he knows 2 guys who got Alzheimer's from coding in their 40s

user you are a great worker but you never attend social event
For that reason we offer a 1% pay rise and your new manager Big Tit Britnney will be able to track yoir KPIs closely

My first employer out of college was like that. They always made fun of me for not attending the "happy hour" or going to their evening office events. I got sick of it and quit a year later. Didn't even give them a notice. I emailed at 9am that I was leaving and they responded with my exit packet. Never spoke to them again. The two companies I've worked for since are mostly the same. I blame myself for getting a business-type degree, there is no real work and it's all just inane office bullshit. I fill out financial forms and send emails while listening to drone rock and thinking about bombing the place.
