I think this is actually code for Biden going to tell Powell to ratchet the rates higher and stop blaming the executive branch. In that interview Powell did last week he basically blamed Biden and congress for inflation.

If Biden goes and talks to Powell and tells him to drop rates the few people who are still falling for the "putin price hike" may see through it. Instead he waited until AFTER blackrock had a chance to move their funds out of tech last week and into oil. Now he gets to claim credit for the fed rate because he "gave Powell a stern talking to" but only after the financial sector had a chance to offload their bags onto retail.
