what are your reasons for holding LPL versus holding link? I just don't get why when its not realistic for LPL to have its token price follow LINK. It might still be a guaranteed LINK farming token but will the token rise in value similarly? I'm just not sure.

provides cut off all their fees (their nodes, managed nodes, market, naas, staking infra). that's where the lpl income is coming from at the moment
+ prioritised access to staking on their nodes when it goes live

so basically you'd have a massive pool of link that nops could borrow at low cost (due to the supply obviously)
now i had assumed this would happen in general which would be why non-lpl holders would be seething
but now jonny brings it up randomly. would like to see that slide
previously a big draw of lpl would be that they would restrict the pools using lpla so that lpl holders would have protected and consistent rewards
still might, but he just casually throws that out there

basically linkpool will allow other node operators to create tokens to gate access to staking
the global insurance is just an idea and would basically be a plebe pool where you would be at risk of slashing events and low apys
this is what i expect coinbase, binance, bancor etc to have
if they don't own and operate nodes then you don't have anything

this is pretty bullish for lpl holders as nodes will have to pay a fee for the use of the linkpool staking infrastructure
it will be another revenue stream
before people say "but there will be other places to stake link!!!"
no there won't unless a team is building in stealth
chainlink staking will allow nodes to stake but it won't allow retail to stake trustlessly
that's what linkpool has built
