Coal or nuclear?

Coal seems like the rational choice. Renewables can't power the grid consistently, so coal, gas, or nuclear is required to provide baseline capacity.

The problem with gas is it's too expensive nowadays. Nuclear is great but only if you have very responsible people to run it, because any fuck up is really nasty.

Global warming isn't real, which means there's no problem at all with burning coal. It's cheap, clean, and abundant. We have centuries' worth of the stuff.

So coal is the patrician's choice for electricity generation. And don't give me any bullshit about coal being dirty. Modern power plants scrub the sulfur and other dirty particulates right out of the emissions.

Nookalerr

nuclear is basically retard proof nowadays

But coal is renewable, you can make coal out of trees and trees can grow back.

Nuclear is better in every way

Hydro is the most aesthetic.

Global warming isn't fake retard.

natural gas, wind, and solar is the answer, and it has been for several years now

nice try "scientist" you are gonna need a new con if u want that grant moni

>Global warming isn't real, which means there's no problem at all with burning coal. It's cheap, clean, and abundant.
It's real, it's just not a big deal. The particulates that coal combustion throws off are a big deal though and they're definitely responsible for a lot of unncessary death, heart disease, cancer, etc.

This, you have to be an idiot not to be pivoting your grid to nuclear. Coal should be phased out, not because muh co2 but because it's dirty and inefficient relative to nuclear.

Having nuclear power plants are the same as wearing a shirt with a large flashing RGB target saying "SHOOT HERE!" in a war.

a good resource for learning about this topic is the video game "Fate of the World" -- it's on Steam

I just got the last achievement a week ago, after playing the game for 10 years

brainlet greentard

>REEEEE I will pay more for electricity if it means we burn more coal and trigger the libs! roal coal! let's go brandon!

Burn the coal, pay the toll.

you're a pseudointellectual just like every single "green" activist retard out there. Solar and wind are the most inefficient wasteful delusions of the modern era. The ROI is basically non-existent the amount of waste they produce throughout their lifecycle is worse than a coal power plant

w*men are cucking us out of the glorious nuclear age

he called you a brainlet because solar and wind are meme tier solutions. solar batteries are massively harmful to eco, plus they both clear huge swaths of land to get any decent output

Wind was always situationally good in areas with a lot of wind. Solar has become less of a meme in the past 5 days, but only works in sunny areas, and doesn't work at night/on overcast days. Both beat the cost of investment over the lifecycles by far though.

>Solar and wind are the most inefficient wasteful delusions of the modern era. The ROI is basically non-existent
they're literally the cheapest sources of electricity in existence, you're not making any sense

>the amount of waste they produce throughout their lifecycle is worse than a coal power plant
heaven forbid that we have to bury three propeller blades in the desert every 25 years after they wear out, when instead of using wind power we could keep burning coal and keep killing 3,000 people per year (in the US) via fine particle pollution

methane.

>past 5 days
*5 years.

Nuclear would be the best earf was stable and had a higher average iq. As it stands its probably best to diversify energy sources. Coal, solar and hydro come to mind. Wind is absolutely dogshit.

even if you don't believe in global warming, you want to breath in the smog caused by coal power plants? i know i don't.

Kino.

nuclear too dangerous too though
drive your Tesla and eat your bugs and don't ask questions

yes, 3 propellers PER windmill, of which there has to be a shitton of. Not to mention the constant individualized maintenance, the shitty gearbox which is exposed to the elements 24/7. You're delusional, nice fucking "green" energy you got there
