The best way to get clients is go to the most boomer mom and pop business and give them an intro package for a fixed price then lock them into a monthly subscription.

buy a camera or get in touch with a photograph. also someone who knows how to shoot and edit a promo vid. Then make some demos

This. Literally just do Instagram posts and the most basic website for a portfolio and how to contact you. I know a chick that barely graduated hs, had an abortion and tattoos at 19, and "worked" running the Instagram page of a yoga studios for years - now she's an LLC partner at a marketing business with some guy that charges insane rates for just a consultation and they have at least 6 businesses and a magazine partnered with them in year one. Its literally a woman-tier job on par with HR, you just need to have followers, the ability to feign social skills, and a good camera. Its also helps if you're in a metropolitan area. Free money - I'd do it if I was a hyper-socialized fag.

Start learning about Facebook and Instagram Ads. Facebook Pixel, Google AdWords, etc.

I will just do organic marketing, no ads. Mainly because I don't have much experience in ads, and I'm not comfortable spending other people's money if I don't know what I'm doing.

Wow, that's insane. Yeah, making money is the only reason I'd ever get into marketing because in my opinion it's the easiest business to make money with.

You will literally not make it in a start-up business with this mindset. You are going to have plenty of moments where you "don't know what" you're doing - you either make a judgement call or bust your ass finding the information before you make a move.

Yeah, its incredibly easy. We live in one of the richest counties in the country with a major small business hub + luxury car/fashion corps so they had a very easy market to get into - it might be harder for you if you live in somewhere do big on image or status. But everything stabilized - its not nearly as hard you think.

Don't you think its worth it to do the 40 minutes of research associated with literally social media ads? Fucking bimbos can do this work dude. If you're starting up a marketing business, a client is going to want to work with someone who will give them the most visibility, and that's not associated with people specifically coming across your portfolio/page/whatever. I'm just saying - social media has made it easier than ever for anyone off the street to be a marketer, you're not actually learning real ad-work

I have done that, I have already done a few hundred dollars worth of ads for a business of mine.

I just don't think that's enough experience for me to spend others' money. Maybe down the line I will.
