Living off of investments

Isn't this immoral? You're basically just living for free without contributing to society at all.

Yes, what of it?

The companies you're invested in are providing the contribution in your stead, retard.

based

But I'm not actually investing in the company. I'm just buying their shares

investment per se isn't evil. usury is more the problem.

>I'm not investing in the company
>I'm only buying a part of the company

If I wasn't forced to pay income tax maybe I'd give a shit.

It's not immoral but if you have millions, then you can get a job that pays a shit ton and requires minimal effort.

How?

>contributing to society
wrong
you are taxed and continue to consume

Immoral not to contribute?

Uh bitch this society revolves around gay parades and African riots, the only moral path is NOT to contribute

Hate the game, not the player.

Work isn't the only way you can contribute to society user.

Also you are owed fresh food and water and shelter by default - that is what our early ancestors had for free.

its how you spend your money that counts in this system, not how you earn it

Money is commodified labor. Free money is slavery.

That said, if you're posting here then you almost certainly live on at least not the bottom rung of exploit. Your existence in economy at that level necessitates participation, whether you acknowledge it or not. Thousands of years of conquest, slavery, the most unthinkable abuses has afforded you the ability to ponder if your investing is moral or not.

The only way out is accepting you're a selfish slave driver, attempting to rapidly accelerate some fringe ideology, or ignorance.

Maybe it's just and moral for the superior to be slave drivers. Maybe most were born with saddles on their backs, and just a few were born with spurs and riding crops. Maybe it's god's plan that things are this way.

I work for a startup and make 80k/yr. At my company, small businesses hire us and use our embedded software product to help them advertise on their dumb websites. What I do contributes NOTHING to society. I don’t think that (You) living off of investments is any less moral or ethical than what I do.

Literally unless you’re a doctor, fireman, run a charity/nonprofit, or are a scientist trying to cure aids and cancer, you aren’t doing anything ethical whatsoever.

Is this really how moralfags think? They even believe that society is worth contributing to? Fascinating stuff OP, tell me more.

Your contribution is in the taxes you pay and the lending services you provide via your passive income investments.
You contribute a lot more than any mcwagie peasant ever could.

in theory the investment is your contribution. also the money you pay in taxes and for goods and services. it's not free.

>living for free
somebody pays me for the opportunity to have something that i bought a while ago. this is no different from reselling goods.
