Ironically yes. Don't buy garbage and the value never tanks, and goes up in times of uncertainty. It's no crypto, but at least it holds value well. I prefer to be proficient with a few over having a stockpile. Truly hope I never have to use one, but I'd rather have it and not need it kind of thing.

The argument that police exist and therefore you don't need guns is ridiculous, like saying fire departments exist so you don't need fire extinguishers.

Home security systems are great items to have as well, even if it's just a camera or two on the outside to discourage burglars looking for an easy smash and grab. On that same line, the sound of a 12 gauge shell getting racked into a chamber is a universal language understood everywhere in the world.

As for people saying that police exist, those people don’t understand what money is. Money is control, and if you can’t control your safety you are less wealthy than someone who can control their safety. Reliance on police is like trusting that banks are a good place to store all or your net worth. Both police and banks are good, and they both have a purpose, but if you want to be wealthy you have to invest, you can’t keep all your money only in a bank, if you wanna have true control over your life and belongings you need to have a weapon and know how to use it.

As for how much money I have invested, I own an AR and a pistol, total value is close to $3000 plus some ammo for both (I bought the ammo at a little bit of a high price) I’ll round up to $1000, total $4000 invested in weapons/security. IMO that is a good amount. I might spend some more money on more ammo and training eventually.
