1992 32 books of encyclopedia Brittanica heirloom edition

Hello I have 32 encyclopedia books that are leather bounded. With an extra accessories of books of medical health and 3 books of m.w dictionary brown.This was purchased in 1992 for 2450$ Total. It is in excellent condition and never touched. Can you please tell me how much money (maximum) I could sell it for and where should I sell and how can I make a lot of profit? The middle book you see in the photo has gold things around it. Should I sell it in eBay? Who would buy this? How can I make a lot of money? Pawn shop? What type of market? Thank you!

I would consider buying if the price was right and try to contact abebooks or any vendor they work with who could get this on their site. Whatever you do, sell it as a collection, do not break it up.

this is what I would pay, not what its worth and I'll explain. I would pay at most 200$ because what is it that is so significant about this collection excepting that it is complete? It is not that old. It doesn't predate any significant period of civil change (IE it talks about X in a way no publisher would allow anymore). It was mass produced in the modern age, not printed by hand in limited edition. Hell explore any abandoned school and you'll find sets and sets of encyclopedias piled up in random rooms.

It was purchased for its information in the 90s and for that reason, it cost a pretty penny. Today its out of date information bought for novelty, not collection.

So take it to a few used book stores and see what you can get because it might just be some sought after edition that no one but a collector recognizes and see what they say, go in person though if you can to look them in the eye and get a feel for their appraisal. But I doubt you will get more than a few hundred bucks.

I bought a Rudyard Kipling collection for like 150$ of much greater age and significance as well as a first edition english translation of mein kamf (still need to read the both) that was in europe and now is not, for 500$ (a purchase that will only appreciate as that book will only become more rare and its author more infamous)

my point is, neat old books are like neat old anything, they are worth what people will pay. so if you want to sell for beaucoup money, find the right buyer

oh and the reason this book sold so much back then is the same reason academic books sell for so much now, limited market
