Because there is not enough projected supply for current demand and current uranium prices are too low for opening new mines economically. Nuclear is also probably going to do a comeback, so demand is likely to increase. Uranium is not a great input cost for utilities because they don't need much, so there is not going to be demand destruction due to high prices and utilities are forced buyers anyway.
