A pre-1982 penny is 95% Cu and 5% Zn. At the current price of $4.43/lb for Cu, a 3.11 gram penny is worth 2.88 cents. Wow! Three times the return on your investment! So let's get "rich" - say, end up with $1,000 in Cu? You would need 34,690 pennies, weighing 107.89 kg. So for every 2379 lbs of pennies you clear $694 in profit. Or 237.9 lbs will clear $653.1 in profit. I hope you have strong floor boards. It's penny-ante shit. Grow up and stack real PMs.
