Fiat money in a fraudulent system is all equally worthless and the US dollar is especially overvalued by having a monopoly on oil trades. Forcing russia to now trade in rubles or Yuan (something they were already preparing for) is only going to fuck the average westerner. Russia has immense farmlands, massive mineral reserves, huge amounts of oil (that they're actually mining unlike the US) and now a trade partner with Chicom and probably much of Africa since good ol nato screwed the pooch back in the 90s.

Maybe I'm a brainlet but if Russia is cut off from swift and the USD, Russian assets herd overseas are being frozen or seized, they have military they are willing to use to reclaim their territory in Ukraine, and the Exxon oil rigs and refinery are on Russian soil, what's to stop Russian military engineers from simply walking into the abandoned structures and pushing the on button? It seems the only real difficulty is putting a Russia sticker over the Exxon logo on the oil drums and business carries on without skipping a beat. Maybe Exxon did not think this through very well.
