Business Owners, I seek your wisdom
I'm 24, tired of soul-destroying wageslaving my life away in the warehouse freezer and would like to escape and create something worthwhile. What is the process in which I get the least fucked ? LLC is the way to go right, and would I need to get international pattents for brand name / logo / company ? Ik pajeets just take your brand if you're semi-successful and you cant do shit unless you have legal pattents or something
I've had a website domain since 2019, unfortunately its .ca since i'm not wealthy and the .com would cost me 2 months salary lol
Anyways, I would greatly appreciate any insight

You don't need to incorporate before you make money in the USA for most businesses
I'm in Vancouver
So you would suggest I dont register anything, patents and such until I start earning income ?
I'm expecting to be in negatives for the first few months
i was in the same position. i went and got my cdl from the local community college and became an otr truck driver for 2 years. after making a lot of money from the 2017 bullrun, i went and bought my own truck outright and now i am an owner operator. i now clear 180k a year after taxes and dump every penny i have into investments. i will continue to do this until i turn 35 then i will fuck off somewhere else and retire. hell, i could retire right now if i wanted to but this is a great gig for an autist like me.
grats user
the taxes part scares me the most as i've heard horror stories of people getting deeply penetrated
>I'm 24, tired of soul-destroying wageslaving my life away
oh you sweet summer child.
So you dont have shit for clients, an idea, or any fucking skills but you want to make an LLC for.... nothing. LLCs protect you from liability you have 0 business and 0 liability you are protecting nothing. This is like hiring a security guard to protect a house you don't own. You come to Any Forums to live out some fantasy and want us to fill in all the blanks. You obviously have not suffered enough yet to be motivated to do anything with your life. Get fucked.
>international patents
kek
holy fuck everything in russia seems to be tech from the 70's, i thought it was just their military
there's nothing wrong with asking questions
protecting myself as banks can rape you if you're sole proprietor but llc is its own entity
you're upset for your failures and taking out your frustrations on me, bet you handicap yourself all the same
true
I guess only NA matters then, that and dot com
You dont even have a business or an idea.
Go back to the drawing board op.
starting off as a clothing brand to gain easy recognition and capital
then slowly pivoting to foods, ointments, accessories, etc

High net profit- LLC
Low net profit smol biz - sole prop
If your product is quality and has high demand then you dont need to worry about some pajeet stealing your idea. Just worry about your branding.
Good luck fellow vancouverite
Thanks user
I guess it would make sense starting as sole proprietor for now and if I wanted to I can merge it into an llc later
millennials and zoomers love ethical stuff so i'll probably swing with that angle for a bit
If you plan on selling directly to customers, registering a brandable name for a website is more benefitial than filing for patents you dont know when they'll be approved
>What is the process in which I get the least fucked ?
By being successful.
>LLC is the way to go right
If you have assets you don't want to lose and you think your business might go bankrupt - then yes. Otherwise it just adds another layer of costs and problems. It's especially useless if you need credit from a bank. No bank will give an empty recently founded LLC credit so you will likely have to guarantee or co-sign as a private individual anyway, thereby nullifying the benefits of a financially separate entity.
>international pattents for brand name / logo / company ? Ik pajeets just take your brand if you're semi-successful
People with zero skills are obsessed with intellectual property because they imagine the *idea* is what makes money in a business. In reality it's >90% *execution* that brings in the dough. Think of it this way - how solid is a business model where all that protects you from a competitor offering a better and/or cheaper product is a piece of paper that says they're not allowed to? Make your product/service do the talking instead of hiring a lawyer and paying obscene amounts of money for worthless IP that doesn't add any profit. Your team and your product should be the *best* offer, not the legal offer.
Why would a customer buy your product? What need to you fill? Why buy specifically your product? How do you expect to transfer brand recognition for clothing to food? They're two entirely separate industries with zero overlap in terms of supply chain or retail.
Imagine living your life in this much fear.
Howdy user, small business sole-trader here. I would certainly not overthink it - find yourself a niche you are intrigued in and ideally have some knowledge or willingness to learn about. I for example chose herbal supplements as I will never take the (literal) pharma-cartel pill and have done enough research over the years to have a fairly solid comprehension of which herbs, roots et cetera are useful for boosting certain bodily functions, reducing risks of certain dis-eases and so on. Find something that is universal enough to market to a wider audience, yet focus on not too broad of a market (for example your idea to go from clothing to foods to ointments) and focus on optimizing a single niche first.
Patenting/LLC is well down the line unless you are looking into unique tech or pharmaceuticals, but that requires well more than a solo entrepreneur I'd reckon. Do create a good logo/brand recognition, even getting a pro graphic artist to design it on Fiver/Upwork, as a good logo will be a lifelong recognizable symbol for your business.
It truly comes down to finding a niche you love and just start building up, get friends/family to test your product/service and if it is a winner, build social media and reach out to 'influencers' in your niche to advertise and funnel to your website to close a sale. I wish you all the best, user.
bump for the entrepreneurial spirit
I incorporated a few days ago, didn't cost anything and I was bored. Feel like it is good incentive, since yesterday was my last day of waging.
Thinking of doing something similar given that I already grow so much lions mane and reishi.
Based culinary mushroom grower! How did you get started with those and do you use them for yourself or also sell to fancy restaurants, farmers markets et cetera?
