Well all I really cook is spaghetti but I use a lb of meat, half pound of hot italian sausage cook the onions first then the sausage mash it good, then the meat till its browned but not overly cooked then add your sauces, usually a classico if you have to do storebought fire roased garlic or garlic and basil, simmer it don't drain anything, then put it on low for like an hour and a half.
Then do paste al dente drained with olive oil to prevent drying.

Usually that mixed with roasted garlic three jars.
