How come his world title reign failed?

It was completely unrealistic the idea that he could beat Kane

even though x-pac and rvd had done it years prior

Why the fuck was he feuding with Kane anyway?

Stuck in the mid card with a complete anti dimes Kane whilst Paul and HBgay stunk up the main event with their “epic” matches

Kane was the hottest heel at the time after Triple H and actually scary
Roster was pretty bad back then, only other heel was no draw Christian

He couldn't control his narrative.

What about Jericho?

Because he was forced to take a backseat to Triple H even when Triple H wasn’t champion

because its chris benoit. hhh had to carry their feud in promos then as soon as he has nobody else to carry feuds for him hes not very interesting. because he cant carry things by himself. hes an upper midcard guy who can wrestle a big heel occasionally for an underdog pop

>t. adam COPEland

Main evented Backlash
Two matches and the second to last match at Bad Blood
Main evented Vengeance
Then lost at Summerslam

Jeribloat turned face after being cucked at Wrestlemania, remember?

So why not turn Benoit heel?

Because he was a fan favorite

HHH was the top heel on RAW
Having another heel as champion wouldn't work with HHH around, we'd get heel v heel feud

Rocky was more over than Benoit ever was post-nation and they still turned him heel with the corperation

2004 was an anti dimes year with an abysmal roster. which is also why benoit was champ in the first place. and why a green as shit fast tracked orton with no organic demand was also given the belt. all the big wcw and wwf stars had left and nobody wanted to see these shitty champions. we went from steiner goldberg etc to this total crap within a year

Send him to Smackdown
Raw didn’t need to be the triple h show for 4 years

Orton was given the belt to spite Lesnar

Exactly I don't think he failed, towards the end his role was to put over Orton, and he succeeded, of course, what happened after wasn't his fault

Benoit is objectively a bigger star than Scott Steiner

Babyfaces are always bigger stars than heels
