Sorry for yelling I won’t yell this thread If you’re serious, consider getting into the Purple Martin scene. There’s some debate about who started it, but the bottom line is by about the 1600s the species had evolved to be completely dependent on both native Americans and European settlers. They are social birdies that live in large groups. They require you to build homes for them (natives used gourds) that you put on large poles away from trees and shrubs (there could be predators in trees), and you will have to clean out their old nests so they can build new ones every year. It is a lot of work, and I only helped my grandparents with there’s at as a kid. But they’re beautiful birds with a lovely song, or at least chirps that sound different than the normal ones. If you do the work and provide for them, they will remember you and will always come back to love with you I plan on using GME profits to set up several purple Martin houses myself, along with other things to attract other bird types. Bird watching is a very rewarding experience and I encourage everyone to at least buy some random seed and throw it in the lawn if nothing else. I love those little guys. I can talk about woodpeckers more next if people want more bird talk >disclaimer: west coasties need not apply
