The Fed isn't, just the personal accounts of employees is. The entire reason for this is so they can't be accused of insider trading at anytime in the future after that scandal in the fall near the shmita when a few chairmen, I think the Dallas Fed one and some other i cant recall atm, traded a few of the real estate assets that was the focus of one of the Feds mortgage purchasing subsidy programs.

It's not news at all. They'll still trade, just via their friends/relatives. You can ban them from trading unless you ban them from speaking privately. This is just a bone to throw to the plebs
