I'm the opposite, when I buy crypto I pretty much buy it for life. My only advice is to try and find projects you genuinely believe in. Don't listen to moonboys, actually do your own research and make your own decision. Don't make emotional judgements and stop looking at sentiment. Look instead at the tech, fundamentals, and tokenomics. Compare all the coins competing in the same niche, find the best one, accumulate.
Also don't look at marketing jargon and don't look to biz/youtube/reddit/twitter for advice. No advice is worth taking at face value. Any Forums is okay sometimes but only when people are actually arguing and discussing, that way you can judge both sides.
Idk why it's hard to put into words but I guess I just mean "make honest judgements".
Also this having an income and not making impulse decisions helps.

I can't do this, I literally cannot and haven't been able to do so since February 2021 and the beginning of the mania. In fact I'll ask you this user, what coin/token have you been holding and believing in tech wise and why?
Do you really believe that in the current landscape utility and tech matters? Because in my personal case I have made far more money with shitcoining and BSC scams this past year instead of buying and holding projects I deemed to be worth after conducting a research on my own back in 2020. (Stuff like XCM, PRQ, VXV, etc.) I made some quick math and if I didn't decide to give up on my investing principles chasing memecoins, I'd have less money today than if I just kept holding those with the little capital I had.
Even if I suddenly were to have 6 figures available I still wouldn't be able to bring myself to hold and believe in any of these projects because I feel like the illusion of utility has been broken in my mind. Except for BTC, I now have the unironic belief that there are no useful crypto projects and that alts pump only when twitter/discord/telegram create a narrative to make poorfags/retail FOMO in them. That or it's only L1s like AVAX/FTM/SOL which are completely useless but allow people like me to gamble on memecoins or NFTs.
Is it a lack of foresight or a case of a brain fried by shitcoining too much? Maybe. But until I see projects evolving beyond being mere vehicles for whales and normalfags like me to gamble on or stuff bringing actual real world utility with blockchain tech I will never be able to escape this mindset

The fact that you're in 5 digits says a lot about your success in shitcoin casinos. I'm taking a wild guess here, but I'm assuming that you made a couple hundred dollars into thousands and think that's a scalable standard. The more money you invest into a shitcoin, the more likely you'll get rugged because shitcoins aren't scalable. Also, I imagine that the shitcoin casino is going to be closed way more often than not in the future because there aren't enough idiots investing in them to fall victim to a rugging (someone has to hold the bag).
A lot of the big coins have pretty good use cases, but since news and development is slow, you could be holding for years until it pops off - that's real investing for you and it's a lot safer than gambling on shitcoins.
If you want advice, just throw money into something that you believe in for a number of reasons and not because of one rumour or whatever and go do something else. Investing is meant to be easy as shit and not very hands on.

Yeah, I've been extremely retarded and underperfoming compared to a lot of my peers because I was blinded by greed and went back and forth below 4 figures a lot of times instead of securing my gains

Mostly the case on BSC, but on ETH there was a two week period when $1k alone could have granted you 6-7 figures if you were lucky, like once every two days (not baiting). Shitcoins and retarded NFT game tokens with big liquidity also exist, allowing you to "easily" turn amounts like $10-30k into 6 figures without issues, in a way shorter timespan. With increased risk of course, and also requires you to hold for more than a day (which is already too long for me to believe in something)

This I find hard to believe. I'll take LINK as an example because my knowledge is limited but what does it do today? It's a meme at this point but why is the token needed. Everything works fine as it is already if we're talking strictly about oracles, oracles that are used only by crypto investors. What happened to SWIFT? etc.
