It started off somewhat interesting then they realized they needed to no sell 2/3's of it. Bliss will probably phase out the gear and song in the next month or so to get as much merch sales as possible, then revert to the previous gimmicks that got her over. I liked the concept, but you can't really sustain that type of gimmick in a weekly wrestling show while having The Fiend wrestle people other than jobbers. They should have done a Goldberg style run instead of having him feud with established guys that weren't sunsetting.

They simply don't plan things out for the future. They don't care or remember whatever came before, they just come up with whatever gets them through the next week or two with Vince.

There was no point to it. Orton knew this shit was retarded and as soon as he had a new contract secured got as far away from it as possible. The Fiend was a cheap hybrid of Kane and Undertaker done by a guy with the talent or presence of neither. He moved merch to non-wrestling fans because some of his gear appealed to mall goths and juggalos who just said "lol spooky clown!" and bought a shirt. This never translated to ticket sales or ratings and overall merch sales have dipped so low that it is hardly a boast to be at the top of that pile.

Some of it wasn't his fault like the DQ finish to Hell in a Cell. A lot of it was his fault though. Its a gimmick that only works if you are destroying everyone and no selling done by a guy who is just a fat dude in a clown costume. It only works in very specific segments that have nothing to do with the rest of the show - Kane and Undertaker could both do battle royals or tag team matches or whatever feuds they needed. Trying to do the Fiend in those settings exposes it as nothing but the aforementioned fat guy in a clown suit.
